The Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) has opened online applications for 42 Civil Judge posts in the Subordinate Judiciary. Applicants from the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir, and residents of Ladakh, are eligible.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants interested should ensure that they meet all the required eligibility criteria, as well as educational details, age limits, and domicile needs.
Educational Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Law from a recognized university in India.
- Be either a Barrister of England or Northern Ireland, or a member of the Faculty of Advocates in Scotland, or have any other equivalent degree recognized by the Government of India.
Age Limit
- Lower Age Limit: 18 years
- Upper Age Limit: 35 years
Domicile Eligibility
Applicants should have to be a domicile of Jammu & Kashmir. For the ST-1 category, residents of the Union Territory of Ladakh are also eligible.
Steps of Application
- First one has to finish the One Time Registration (OTR) process on the portal.
- Fill out the online application form correctly and upload all the necessary documents needed.
- Finally submit the application and pay the required fee online before the last date.

Application Fee
The application fee varies based on the applicants category:
- General Category: ₹1200
- Reserved Category: ₹700
- PHC Candidates: Nil
Selection Process
- Preliminary Test: It is an objective type test comprising of two papers, each have 225 marks. The marks obtained in the Preliminary Test are used for shortlisting applicants for Main Exam.
- Main Exam: It includes compulsory and optional papers. Each paper has 100 marks.
- Viva Voce: Applicants who qualify in the Main Exam will appear for the interview which carries 140 marks.
- Physical Fitness Test: It is also required.
